Default Cherokee manual windows stiff then easy

Hi,
My 99 Cherokee XJ has manual windows. I notice just recently that when I try to lower the front driver's window it gets real stiff the first 1/4 way down than jumps slightly and than the window goes down uber easy the rest of the way and always nice and smooth on the way back up. Anyone have any suggestion to what's going on with the window? Thank you

Maybe there's some gunk on the window edge? Try cleaning it and spraying some silicon lube down the window channel to get it sliding easily. If the problem persists I'd pull the door panel then clean/lube the window regulator real good.

Start with the suggestion above.

Then, with the window down, silicone spray the vertical channels.
