Cherokee hatch wiring help
Hello, I have a 2001 jeep cherokee and it was rear ended pretty bad awhile back. I recently replaced the wrecked hatch with a 1998 jeep cherokee hatch and the connectors are totally different. Does anyone know of a descriptive wiring diagram that will show me the names and colors for the wiring harness of the new hatch and the wire to put it with on my cherokee? Thank you

Got it figured out! It was from the 3rd brake light, it was barred way up the tape, almost as if it was cut prior to be pulling it out.
So I completed the rewire and I still don't have a 3rd brake light and my license plate light still flickers. Any advice?

If you visit Cruisers website (Link below) and download the 2001 XJ manual, you can find the full wiring diagram in there. The file 01XJEE.PDF contains the wiring diagrams for a 2001. There isn't a manual for a 1998 but is the 1997 and 1999. Colours may have changed through some years so some digging may need to be done.
If you still have your old hatch around, you could take the cover off and take note of each wires colours and where they go to, then check out which colours match on the new hatch and take note of any colours that have changed so you know to join Red/Black to Orange/Black as an example.
@leprechon777 I must say this is a first for me on here, you managed to reply to someone else's thread about nearly the same topic. Don't worry about it, just copy and paste your post into your own thread to make it easier to continue helping you out.
