You need to start your own thread concerning your questions/concerns.
Hijacking threads is frowned upon and can get very confusing to the OP of the original thread and readers of the thread.
I for one will not answer your questions on this thread any longer.

I will invesitgate G108. I have a feeling that this may be the problem, if nothing else I will get a better ground on it while i'm in there.
What about adding an additional ground to the instrument panel connectors? I could easily add a ground, and if nothing else it may help diag the situation.

Thanks CCKen,
I will invesitgate G108. I have a feeling that this may be the problem, if nothing else I will get a better ground on it while i'm in there.
Unless someone has done work under the dash, like replacing the HVAC Unit, adding remote start, or an alarm system, I would not fool with G108. G108 can be tested for integrity from the cluster. There are many circuits grounded at G108. If it were bad you should see other ciruits down.

Adding another ground would not be on my list of things to do.

Have you addressed any of the ground points in the engine bay? G100 (Battery to right inner fender) is a critical ground. It is the main ground path from the battery to the chassis, which many circuits are grounded to.
G101 is the other critical ground. The PCM is grounded there.

Sorry for the delay in reporting back my findings. I checked all the grounds both under the hood and behind the dash. All continuity checked with volt meter.
Been digging up about 30 different forum posts, and started checking everything with my meter. The right connector to the cluster (Instrument Cluster - C2) is not getting CCD Voltage on pin 1 or 2.
At the DLC i am getting 2.5 volts on both pin 3 and 11. From my understanding of the FSM, I should be able to splice in wires from DLC pin 3 to Cluster C2-1 and DLC pin 11 to Cluster C2-2.
My guess, is that the wires are pinched or cut behind the dash. After more investigating it appears the PO has pulled the dash. Old wires from an aftermarket stereo, and missing screws behind many plastic panels. I will try and get to this this weekend and see if it fixes everything.

I have not had a chance to get to the bottom of it. Bought another project that has taken up my time. You say you think you have it solved. What are you thinking?

I am also having the same problem just as it started getting cold and snowing. I was driving when it went out and I got pissed and kicked under the steering wheel a few times and they came on and then 2 mins later turned off. I kicked it again then turned on. But now they are off and kicking it doesn’t work anymore hahaha

My clusters just went out also.
2000 Cherokee, they went out just after testing the washer pumps for power that weren't working. Worked perfectly till then. Might be late to conversation but it's a starting point. No blown fuses, has to be a wire withing the area of the pump's.

Read thru this thread. It shows how to test the CCD Bus.
The instrument cluster must be installed for these tests.
It may not give you an absolute answer but at least it will eliminate some possible fault(s).

Note that the OP of this thread was too lazy to follow up.

Thank you! I've been looking for this exact info for ages. I'll be testing this today on my 99xj. I'm not familiar with posting. If i don't respond it's because I didn't know you replied. I saved this post. I'll try to reply again when i find all the problems. I've been chasing wiring demons for a year.
