I just picked up a 2000 two door cherokee today and it looks like I need to replace the driver door. I went and looked on ebay to see what one would run me and the question is:

What year driver doors can I use? Is it just 98-01 two door doors?

 

i got a question why do you need to replace it?

 

right where the door lock bolts to the door is meesed up. previous owner must have slammed the door or something b/c it bent it anc cracked the door frame. door doesnt shut right and doenst even shut all the way when closed.

 

depending on where you live. you could go to a junkyard or salvage yard and try to find one their. i dont think they charge to much for it

 

thats the plan but was wanting to know if any 98-01 door will fit (4 door/2 door)

 

for your year you can get a 97-01 model door but it will have to be from a two door since the two door model the doors are longer

Ok cool. Can a four door locking latch work on a two door? I might be able to make the door work but the latch if f***ed up.

 

yes the latches are the same.


if the outside of the door looks good, then you can do at least a halfway decent repair to it.

 

its not too shabby. the part of the door that is cracked is where the bottom two bolts bolt into the latch. i would just have to do some triming, beating and bending to get it to working order. I will try and throw up a pic later on
