Default Cherokee country lift

I have a 1994 Cherokee Country. From what I have read the Country Model comes stock with a 1"Lift. If this is right does any one know where the 1" lift is. Is it in the front and rear springs springs or in the front spacers and rear shackles. I want to do a 3" lift from where it is now and not loose that 1" stock lift. It looks a little taller than most other models. Thanks for any info.

Thats not true from what I know. that 1" of stock lift applies to older Cherokees with the UpCountry package, it was an offroad upgrade kit from the factory of sorts. could almost be considered the grampa of the Rubicon package. It came with a few other perks besides just 1" lift. From what I've read they also came with a gas tank, and stock front skid, along with factory tow hooks in the front and a few other things I can't remember off the top of my head.

could someone with a more knowledge chime in and give a yes or no on this one?

I dont have any links to info, but thats what ive heard of also.

Ive got a '97 with the upcountry package, and from what ive read on the build sheet that i got for it.......
HD shock absorbers
sits 1 to 1 1/2" taller than a stocker
fuel tank skid
trans case skid
front rad/ steer link skid
rear swaybar delete
trak-lok 8.25" rear diff
front tow hooks

The shocks must be special, as in the Quadratec catalog it lists one for std cherokees and one with the "hd" package. (????)

That sounds right on the money! good info! There is a difference. Country is a trim level like Classic or Laredo. The Upcountry package is an upgrade from the factory over stock. Its understandable how someone could get confused about that.

Apparently the guys at Jeep had a small vocabulary.
I believe somewhere around mid-98, someone got them a Thesaurus.
Just waiting for someone to read it to them.
