Checking Prices in your area
Well, my employer may require me to start traveling more, so I may have to let go of my '99 Sport. I don't mind highway driving in short distances but it's a bit much for long drives, not to mention the gas mileage.
So was wondering how much XJs are going for, what I should ask for it if I decide to sell. Basic details:
1999 XJ Sport
103,000 miles
Auto transmission
Inline 6
Desert Pearl (Granny Gold)
All original except new AC 2 months ago and aftermarket stereo, but I still have the stock that works fine, just wanted Sirius. I also added cruise control with original parts in the steering wheel and aftermarket clock spring.
It runs and drives fantastic
Interior is in very good shape. Headliner is perfect.
Exterior is excellent and rust free.
Only known issues is an emissions leak code and if I'm accelerating against a high wind the vents will blow out of the defrost instead of the front of dash, but it always corrects itself.
I love this Jeep and if I could afford another car and keep the Jeep I'd do that.
Thoughts on price?

You can check the Kelly Blue book using your zip code to get an idea of price.
As far as your vents go, you have a vacuum leak. Since the vent doors are all vacuum controlled, any loss will result in the doors going to their "default" which routes air through the defrost vent. Once you back off the throttle, vacuum builds and the doors go back to the setting on the controls.
There are lot's of threads on this.

I've looked at KBB and NADA and it seems like they are behind on what the market will bring on XJs right now.
Put it on Bring A Trailer. The crazy people bidding on that site will pay top dollar for a low mileage XJ in good condition. You may get $10k-$15k for it if it looks good (and you fix those 2 items). If you do a search on the site, you can see all the past auction sale prices.
