Default check strap query

Hi there, does anyone know if the check straps are the same in 2002 cherokee and the 2003. i know this is bit random question but i can only get part from overseas and need to know before i pay postage. My jeep is cherokee sport crd round light type. cheers for any replies.

There is not a 2002 or 2003 Cherokee in the States. But to answer your question, I would think they would be the same.

oh - I thought they were called door checks. ANyway, you can get new ones from teamcherokee cheap.

Teamcherokee only seam to do check strap of models up to 2001 and although they might be better (as they have a metal arm instead of the plastic in mine). They would kill me with postage since im in Northern Ireland and probably wont fit. cheers anyway i ve e mailed the place suggested by busted back. cheers people

What op is referring to as a cherokee is the export name of the liberty. If I had to guess I think it would be safe to assume that the parts are the same between the two model years.

It is sometimes called a door check strap because some vehicles actually use a strap to keep the door from opening too wide. Older cars mostly.

Op, repeat your part search using a 2002 liberty as the vehicle and you will come up with the part you need.
