My check gauges light has been coming on and is in the red once my 01 cherokee has warmed up. The A/C and the heat on full blast don't put out the cool/hot that it should. Not sure what it is, I know I need to change my oil, and maybe flush my coolant. Any other ideas? It runs ok, I hear some rattling noises when the A/C or heat do start to work, but then after 3-4 mins it goes back to just air. Jeep was smoking a little bit this morning after a 30 min drive to work, and radiator cap was hissing and there was evidence of some kind of liquid/water around it.

Need help, don;t know a whole lot about Jeeps, but have had mine for 5 years.

Can you bring it in to have the code scanned? Being an 01 that would be my first step

Leaking radiator cap and a clogged heater core. Both you can get done yourself. I'd have a shop flush your cooling system.

ericthecarguy.com has an instructional video on unclogging the heater core. I will be doing mine this weekend.
