Hey I was in my 2003 Jeep Wrangler on my way home from work last night, when I had to stop suddenly because of an idiot on the road, anyways, after my hard brake, my check engine light came on any idea as to why?

have you pulled codes? where in Co are you?

 

I haven't run the codes yet, I was gonna do that after school today, i was just hoping someone maybe had a guess ahead of time, so i know what i am getting myself into

 

Strategy for a check engine light is ALWAYS the same. Pull the codes.

Anything less is pure guesswork and is really of no value.

Well when I pull codes, I just go to O'Rielys auto parts store, then have code runners and will tell u what area you have a problem in, and from there u gotta figure it out

 

Oh and it ended up being my little brother forgetting to put the gas cap on all the way, wow did we feel stupid when we saw that
