light is on, after wheeling, I came back home all good, I washed it and went to bed, now I turn it on and light is on and belt squeels and alt gauge is low

now its making a sound Ive never hurd before, when I turn it of, the engine it sounds like it has popcorn poping inside...

 

the alt is bad, took it in for replacement

 

You prolly just had some mud in there hit with a hammer a few times till it comes out then try it again.

 

Did you go through deep water??

 

My jeep was like cutting out had code 41 but showd alt charging, but was a short just happens so fast and frequently didnt show up on guage, had it rebuilt by a guy for $165 and runs like new.

 

well kinda.. water never came in the cabin, and I dont think it was more than 1.5' feet, and I passed real fast,,,

Water was frying the mudd inside I guess. That is some popcorn I will pass on eating.

 

so will a oil change fix the popcorn?

 

Nothing will fix burnt popcorn.
