Clunks into gear. Might replace motor mounts and see.
I don't want BrownDog, I just need OEM style.
I want something that is an exact fit. Not filing down to size.

Brown Dogs are an exact fit. They are pricey, but with good reason, way better than stock.
That said, I have used Anchors with good results. They still looked new after I replaced them several years ago, when I put my stroker motor in. They didn't need to be replaced, but I did anyways.
Also, replace the transmission mount at the same time as the motor mounts.

Sorry I might be thread jacking, but I had a similar question about motor mounts
Only aftermarket motor mounts I've found that are not OE replacements are brown dog, is there any other brands out there?

Typical anchor mount. Stamped steel construction, and very little rubber up top.

Brown Dogs. Quality, thick, welded steel construction, and the rubber/poly bushings center the load in the middle.

A side by side of the two. The anchor on the right shows the failure point well.

The differences are obvious.

Agreed on the Brown Dog mounts being the better option. That being said, I went with the $4 Anchor mounts on mine haha. Haven't driven it much yet since the rebuild but I haven't noticed any extra vibration/issues with these cheap mounts.

Got Brown Dogs for a rebuild, rubber. About 7,000 miles now and they still rattle the dash, drives me nuts! Will be swapping with Anchors when I have time.
Might be great for off roading but I can't stand them for dd use.

Hmm,, I have rubber B-dog motor mounts on my DD and they do great.. At first they felt stiff, but after about a 1000 miles they have smoothed out.. Yes I can feel they are a little stiffer then OEM, but it feels more like a solid feeling..
I don't have any bad motor vibes that shake the dash or rattle my teeth.
Ive seen ppl get bad vibes if the through bolt is too tight, and or they didnt loosen the trans mount when they installed the motor mounts..
The through bolts on the the B-dogs are not torque specific,, snug is good. If you use the washers that come with B-dogs for the through bolt, you should have at least one spin free, thats how you know you are tight enough on the T-bolt.

I have BDMM in the rubber flavor in my XJ. A little vibe in gear, but I haven't adjusted the bolt/nut since I installed them.
I have the Stinky Fab MM in my MJ. Initially in idle I felt more vibe than before. Minimal now, but feels more solid.
