Default charcoal canister vacuum lines

The 87 4.0/4WD needs new vacuum lines for both outlets on the charcoal canister.

The lines at the JY are in worse shape than the ones I had. The dealer can no longer order the parts.

So, any suggestions for how to rig up lines? One is an elbow with two sizes, the other appears to be a normal line.

Any thoughts on sizes connections, reducers, etc. would be greatly appreciated. If anyone has a different solution aside from rigged lines, I'd love to hear that too.

Thanks!

Jan

If anyone out there has replaced these lines, please let me know how you did it.

Also, there are three ports on top of the canister, but one appears to be plugged. Is that normal?

Thanks in advance!

Those lines are not only for XJ's the are standard and used on all motors. Just dig around under some hoods until you find some in good shape.

On the charcoal canister, there is a port that is roughly 5/16 ID. I believe it is supposed to connect to the hard vacuum line which is roughly 5/8 ID. The dealer is saying it is a bulk hose transition. Since that is such a drastic change, I'm guessing there is something that I'm missing.

Does anyone have any idea what is supposed to go there?

Thanks in advance!

Does anyone have photos or a schematic with dimensions on where the vacuum canister lines go in an 87 4.0L/4wd? I'm specifically interested in the connections at the charcoal canister as these are the parts I do not currently have, and cannot find at the JY/parts stores.

Thanks!
