I just bought a 98 xj, I need to change a transmission solenoid so i was wondering how i would go about changing the fluid. Im worried about mixing fluids incase the previous owner used atf-4 and i plan on using DEXIII.

 

I am pretty sure you have to drop the pan and the filter so i would not worry about it. Fill it up with dex and be done with it a little residual aint gonna hurt nothing

 

yea the process should be fun to say the least, just wanted to make sure the tranny wasnt gonna fall out a mile down the road when i was done.
