Bearing puller
Shop Press
0-300 Ft lb torque wrench
0-25 In Lb torque wrench
Dial indicator w/ magnetic base
Micrometer or Dial Vernier Calipers
Case Spreader (not mandatory, but really helps pulling and installing the carrier.)
BFH
Metric ***-load of patience.

I bought a Harbor Freight 12 ton for around $120, I really should have bought the 20ton though.

That's not bad. So it may be worth it for someone with a bit of mechanical experience to learn to do this themselves then, considering the cost of equipment compared to labor costs.

If a guy is only planning on changing gears once then it may be in his best interest to pay someone else to do it. When you start adding up the costs of all of tools involved and the then plugin the learning curve, well for some it's simply a better option to pay the man.

those 4cyl jeeps that had the 4.10's or w.e in them.....can i just take the axle and do a straight up axle swap with my l6?

Yes, just make sure you also install the correct speedo gear for your gear/tire combination.

well what year 4cyl can i get the 4.10 axles from?

Not all 4 cyl's came with 4.10s. Dont assume because its 4 cyl that its automatically a 4.10 gearing. Ive found more without 4.10's than with 4.10's. Check them before you buy.
Any year cherokee differentials will be a bolt in from 2001 on back. The 00-01 D30 fronts are low pinion and less desirable than the 99 back hi pinion D30's.
