Just recently I went to turn the ignition switch to Off and shut down my 98 Jeep Cherokee when it sputtered and then stopped. The next day I realized some things had remained on even though the ignition is in the off posistion. I had power to my instrument panel(digital odometer, warning lights, airbag light) but no accessories. I then turned over the engine and tried to shut it down but this time the motor continued to run, i still have power to the steering column, but again no accessories unless the key was in the correct position. I haven't made any recent changes and I'm led to believe it is some sort of computer malfunction. At present I need to disconnect the battery and pull the fuse to the fuel pump to power down. Is there anyone that can help?
