Default Changing Front Axle have some Questions

I have a lot of problems with my front 30, and rather than spending 100's on parts to fix it, I got a new one. So far we got the brakes off(gonna move caliper to new axle so don't have to move over the break line), shocks off, driveshaft unbolted, but its to big to pull off now gonna wait till axle is off(new ds will be put it) and steering off. We're not quite sure where to put the jackstands to remove the front axle, thinking the framerail behind control arm mounts, although the surface is pretty flat because of framerail stiffeners. Is that a good spot? What is the best way to pull axle out once everything is off, would it be easiest to put tires on and roll it out? Also theres a tube that goes to the differiential, how can that be moved over without damaging it? Thanks

jackstands on framerails with the rear tires safely chucked.

the d30 is light, so 2 people could easily carry it out. but rolling it out with tires on would be easier.

And MAKE SURE u redo that rubber line to the stock height or higher... people leave it off cause they figure its just a breather line but hit any kinda mud or puddle and you'll have more water then gear oil in your axle...

Got everything ready except can't get the bolt from the upper control arm pulled through. What's the best way to get it out?

The one inside the unibody? Knock it as far as you can on the inside and then take weight off the control arm and stick you finger in the little hole and try to hook and pull it back and forth... I can always get them out this way... if your talking about the lower end then just hit it as far out as u can... and stick a wrench smaller then the head over the bolt shaft and beat it out... its not hard...

I just want to add, BE CAREFUL doing something like this.. sticking your finger in any hole with weight on it is just asking to have your finger sheared off.. I know you said take the weight off the control arm, but I cannot stress this enough, I don't want someone to get their finger hacked off, it might be better to use a screwdriver or some other tool.

Naw if u have pulled your upper arms before you would no what I'm talking about... the bolt goes through a 4in hole on the putter part of the unibody... then through a 1/2 in hole the inner part of the unibody then through the control arm and then the outer part of the control arm bracket with the nut last... the 4in hole is where people have problems grabbing the head of the bolt to pull it out of the inside of the unibody... impossible to hurt yourself...

see thats what i thought but 15 is too loose and 14 is too tight. it was a 15mm on the 87 XJ i pulled the axle from. would 6 point and 12 point be that much of a difference as far as sockets go? im using 12 points
