Hey Blue,
After spending hundreds of hours fixing an engine misfire (started out as blown head gasket, then became a cracked head, still misfired, found low oil pressure failing to open valves in cyl #6, removed engine and replaced bearings, lifters, oil pump, rear and front seals, timing chain, and block) now runs sweet, but no A/C! Of course it's an evaporator leak, couldn't be easy! So please, PM with dash removal procedure for 2000 Cherokee Sport LTD. I just can't wait to begin another project!

My 2001 holds freon for a week or two. I need to gather instructions to pull the dash and gather the parts to replace the evaporator myself. Can you post or email it?

Welcome to CF. Sorry for the slow reply, my mother was in the hospital. I'll send you a Private Message.

my dd 1998 Cherokee Sport 4.0 is now leaking freon like a colandar. Dealer here in SW Florida wants over a grand for the repair. Heard that the factory replacement evap is as cheezy as the one in there now. Thinking about trying an eBay one. Any thoughts on the eBay ones?? Could you pm me the instructions on dash removal. From what I've seen , it looks like a nightmare.

I guess maybe Blue has moved on or is too busy...I have used some AC Pro freon and stop leak and so far so good...but I sure would have liked it if he would have sent me the PM on how to replace the evaporator...Oh Well.
