Just finished changing my adapter o rings. 30 mins total and everything went smooth. Was losing considerable amount of oil all summer, and with the colder weather it did slow a little. Received my o rings Friday and got to put em on this morning.
Read a few threads here and most people seem to have a hard time. I got lucky and the bolt wasnt torx. Just a plain 5/8" bolt. Broke free easily and had it off in less than a minute.
Cleaned everything up and removed old o rings which were cracked and very brittle, especially the 2 larger rings.
New rings went on with a little film of oil and 5 minutes later I topped up the oil and checked for leaks. So far so good.
Hoping itll stay good and take care of my oil leak problem.
If you suspect an o ring leak then fix it as soon as you can. Very simple job that anyone can do, especially if youre lucky enough to have a 5/8 bolt.
