Alright I picked up my XJ last friday and drove it around all day (put about 150 miles on it)... it sat all night and then the next day I put another 50 on it or so, stopped at Advanced Auto and picked everything up to do a complete tune up. Ended up only having time to do the air filter and drop/ change the oil. The next day the check engine light comes on, I go back to Advanced Auto and they tell me that it is code P1494, something about a Leak Detection Pump. I went under the hood and I messed with the air line that goes from the Air Cleaner Box to the Valve cover, the next day the check engine light went out. Several hours later the check engine light comes back on. Messed with the line again and nothing happened. Is there something that I am missing or something more that I should look into? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

 

There is a plastic line from the LDP over to the intake with a 90 degree elbow. I'd check that over for leaks.

 

yeah I have the same code and my fitting looks a little worn. going to change that before I go and replace the pump

 

Update. Changed the vacuum fitting that goes into the intake manifold and the code went away.
