And the small *** SHOULD be the gain and the larger one SHOULD be the squelch....
again try the test i have mentioned before about the static and you will verify which one is which by which ever one makes the static go away lol

I also have a Cobra 19 Ultra (original)... that I liked because of the PA.. but it always reverted to Channel 9 when I turned my truck on. I got very tired of changing it to 19 every time I got in. So I swapped it out for an old Realistic. I also have an OLD Johnson Messenger that I used long ago.
Some radios have RF gain... just not the low end ones.

BTW listening to it in my neiborhood, with everything turned up, channel 11 is quite comical...

Now that i have it working and such i would like to mount it. I plan on mounting it like 96 did in his rig. How should i go about mounting it? i think i felt some kind of air duct right there tho. Any advice?

put your fingers up under the the panel and pull the plastic away, then use short self tapping screws to screw it in. And yes its the AC/Heat ducting.
