Catalytic Convertor
Do I have to have a catalytic convertor on a 1984 Cherokee with 2.5 liter? From what I understand, by law you have to (Missouri). If you run one without, will the Jeep still run? Will it cause any problems (long term and short term)?

As someone said. U won't have any probs since its carborated but its the emission laws that u will be dealing with in the long term. There r a bunch of carb legal high flow cats available now that r close to the price of regular oem replacements.

seriously i don't know why everyone makes a big deal out of cats. It's like $100 for a good high-flow magnaflow cat, and your jeep won't smell like **** when driving
It's federal law, like it or not.

i high flow spun cat on ebays is $40 shipped... there almost the same size as the exhaust pipe itself... so no worrys about catching it offroad... and no 90* bends in it... all smooth and slick... there what i always run... not only is it federal law so it excludes any state law out there... its also a must have by 95% of offroad clubs out there... so dont think youll do much REAL trail riding without one...
