cat removal and 02 sensor
To the original posters question this trick works real well http://www.civicforums.com/forums/22...on-w-pics.html
Yes its a simulater but its a type of simulater. its a spacer that pulls the 02 sensor out the pippe to trick the computer. just type in 02 sensor spacer you will see what im talkin bout. It might not work on some vehicles though.
Seems like a waste, though.
From what I understand all you need to do is leave the thing plugged in?
If it were me I'd try and pull it from the exhaust, leave it plugged into the wires, and see what happens.
If it doesn't throw a CEL, just plug the bung and zip tie it to something safe.

First off, it isn't possible. The post-cat sensor will detect the untreated exhaust and throw a code. Removal of the sensor will throw a code.
Second, there should be no reason why you would do this. Even if it was for replacement, you would put the cat on before driving. If your cat is trashed and needs REPLACED, then there's a vendor on the forum with high flow cats for about $40 or so. Otherwise, leave your cat on and alone. It's the law and wanted by forum admin.

The cat was removed before I ever owned my jeep and there is a very rusted piece of exhuast pipe barely hanging on in its place, who sells these $40 high flow cats?
P.s. I dont see any lights on my dash or does the code show up somewhere else?
Did a little looking around and found the high flow cat.

all the spacer does is prevent the o2 sensor from being fouled out, similar to a spark plug spacer.
in no way will this make the pcm think the o2 is still connected
I was reading around and found where a guy just got a peice of pipe not exhaust just a metal pippe about one inch size and drilled a hole and welded a nut on it and screwed the sensor in it and welded that little pipe on the side of the exhaust where the sensor would be and just left both ends of the pipe open and it worked like that because it still got the heat and fresh air so it thought the cat was working
