Question cat. converter and muffler came off

89 cherokee- both are still in good shape . Broke off before the clamp on engine side and in back of muffler just past clamp, Has anybody did this repair before. I am planning on sliding pipe over exhaust pipe 2 1/4 ID fits fits a little loose. Plan on taking my exhaust section that is out to auto parts to get pipe to fit. Money is darn tight deer season 10 days away.. Hope fix will last til spring.
tank leaks at strap
also any used a turnbuckle on gas tank to draw it up tight. Going to have to cut strap at threads maybe . got them cleaned good except for 1/4 in by nut. I ran a new nut up to the old one using wire brush on dremel plus powerblaster. May yet be able with new brush to get the last few threads. the holding nut did loosen about 2 turns but not free yet. Thanks Ken Maybe someone has a few ideas.

If you can fit a sleeve and a pair of clamps over both broken ends, I don't see why it wouldn't work.

that what I"m hoping for. the tailpipe and exhaust seems solid too. Just rusted thru before the clamp on front end and back of clamp on rear. On the coverter it rusted right at support which holds it up. Ken

I disagree and say welded exhaust is the only way to go, clamps are mickey mouse and temporary at best..

but do whatever gets you back in action fast and easy
