May be a dumb question but now that I have my roof rack on I'm ready to outfit it for when I go offroad. I'm wondering what some of you carry when you go offroad such as gear/tools/ spare parts and I have some questions on what type brand should I get.for one I'd like to get a shovel the type that folds up.I need a gas container but I'm not sure what type I should get.would a jerry can work or should I just go to wal-mart and grab any can.I'm also looking at getting a hi-lift jack but I'm on a real budget. I'm wondering should I carry a gallon of water or would that be over the top.Right now I only carry jumper cables, little electric air pump,craftsman tool box,4 way lug wrench,chain,tape and I have a app on my smart phone that tells me what location I'm at so I can mark it. Not that its offroad gear but I think its cool knowing where I'm been and having. I also have a hand held radio app on my phone .I haven't had my XJ long enough to know what spare parts to carry if any at all.
