carpet removal
so i started to remove my carpet today. i ran into some problems first problem is these 4 hook things is there a easier way to remove these instead of just drilling them out cause i cant center my drill bit on it
these are the 4 hooks in the back of the cherokee i dont want them anyway not trying to save them they are junk so i dont care if i have to ruin them to get them out just looking for a easy way
heres a pic of how far i got with the back i ran into the torx screws for the seatbelts and i dont have the right size to get those ones out so i had to quit.. this all took about 5 minutes till i quit
had to resize the pics so if they are small im sorry they were too big to put on here without resizing them it wouldnt let me

if there is any room to get under those clips you may try a chisel and hammer approach.
Let us know how it goes- I will be tearing out mine soon as weather is a little warmer.

yeah there is some room but these just look like rivets but if i cant drill em ill chisel em out with a air chisel or something... it doesnt look as bad as i thought it was gonna look but im gonna put down some bedliner.. does anyone know what i need to do to prep it for the bedliner?

I just removed my carpet yesterday. The easiest way to remove them is to drill. Using a large bit may help you it definitely worked for me. I drilled a fair bit of metal off and then grabbed the tie down and pulled up and it came right off.
For prepping for bedliner I would just make sure you have a rust free, scuffed, and clean surface to work with. I will be doing mine pretty soon. I have to cut out some cancer and rivet some new sheet in first though.

well.. i didnt get to far.. i got everything except for the part for the back seatbelts it has a torx bolt that i didnt have the right size for so i figured ill just get the die grinder out and grind the sides off and put some vicegrips on it.. well the attachment wheels for my die grinder were crap and didnt get me anywhere.. im gonna end up having to go buy the right size torx to fit it .... maybe tomorrow i will put the pics up if i get everything
