I can find new carpet for a 4-door XJ, no problem. But, I can't seem to find any online or elsewhere for my 1995 2-door 5-speed manual sport. Any ideas??? No local salvage yards have anything like that. And, I would be happy to shell out a few bucks if new carpet is available. I would be just as pleased with a "carpet" made of rubber (not the individual rubber floor mats; I already have those). I saw links on some old treads here, but they are not working anymore.
Engine: 4.3L with headers and full 3" exhaust system
I have looked too, but cannot find a new one. I don't really see any real differences between the two, accept where the seat belt mounts. You can get around that easy enough
Have you actually put a 4-door carpet in a 2-door sport?
It's not just the door/seat configuration I wonder about. How about the compatibility for the center console, between 4-speed auto and my manual 5-speed, and its position in the cockpit.
If anybody has done the swap, I'd really like to hear first hand knowledge about it....

So, after much searching online, but no luck for 2-door carpet, I call my local Jeep dealership's parts department, hoping for an OEM replacement. They tell me that in their online parts catalog, for the carpet, there is no distinction between 2 and 4 door, that distinction usually being "72" for 2-door and "74" for 4-door.
The part # for gray is 5ER10RA8
The part # for "dark sand" is 5ER10RY6
But, then I call stockinteriors.com, and the very nice sales rep tells me that they only sell the "4 door carpet" now. Although, about 5 years ago, they say they sold this same carpet as 4-door/2-door, with extra instructions on how to modify the carpet to make it fit a 2-door (something about the passenger area, he believes). They say they had too many call-backs and about the customer modification process to make it fit a 2-door, so now they only sell it as 4-door carpet.

I went to the junk yard today to get some measurements of a 4-door carpet to compare to my 1995 2-door carpet. Compared to the 1996 4-door I found there, they seem the same, except where the seat belt connects (of course). But what I noticed, and did not expect to see, was a 1994 4-door with no crossmember that the front of the seat bolts to. The 1996 4-door DID have the crossmember, like my 1995 does (build date 8/94). And all of the pics online of 1984-1996 carpets do NOT have the molding for that crossmember. They are all FLAT in the entire seat area, like before-mentioned 1994 4-door. Ugh. Looks like there were variations from 1984-1996 that makes the one-size-fits-all carpet not so good.
MY FIX: I went to my local fabric store (where I bought my headliner) and they had an automotive carpet with a semi-ridgid backing on it. I started to wonder if this carpet/backing was heat-mouldable, so I get out my wife's hair dryer and what-do-you-know, IT IS!!! So, for a fraction of the price of a pre-moulded carpet, and crossing my fingers that it fits, I'm going the hand-done route. See below pics for sticker tag, and an example of the carpet mould staying in place after it has cooled.
