Can't source malfunctioning window switches problem.
so the window switches on my 00' XJ have been acting up and i cant figure out what the error is. the switches on the passenger front and rear, and driver rear doors only work sometimes, usually if i have passengers in the car i have to use the master switch board on my driver door. sometimes they work and sometimes they dont, however now the driver rear window is halfway rolled down, jammed and the switch isnt working. ive checked all the fuses and theres none blown. i cant source the problem. anyone else ever have this issue, i'd love to take the gorilla tape off my window.

Look in the rubber boot(s) at the door jamb for split wires, they like to wear at that spot. You may have to pull the door panel(s) to get a better look.

Also go ahead and follow this video to check the wiring. which will also most likely be broken too..
seriously easy fix. takes all about 2 hours tops...

Ive narrowed it down to a blown window motor, but my regulator is bad as well. ive pulled a set from a junk yard but the motor was also bad. the regulator i pulled was from what i can see in great shape, can i buy an aftermarket motor and attach it to the old regluator? im not sure if those parts are going to be compatible

Hi just joined the forum, trying to make sure I post in the right areas. I have a weird issue with my windows. I've checked the wires in the door, none are split. The two back windows roll down from my panel and the the passengers panel. I cant roll down the drivers window or passenger window from anywhere. So it cant be the safety switch like they say.
Any thoughts??
