Can't seem to turn off heater
My '96 Cherokee has recently developed a really annoying problem. Whenever the engine is warmed up, there's always heat coming out of the dash vents. The top ****/slider thing seems to still work, I can still put it on defrost mode or Heat (floor) mode and I think that the AC still works because it cools down a little when it's on Max AC. As long as I've owned the car, when I put it on "Off" there was still air coming out of the vents, but it was always cold. Anyone have any insights on how to deal with this? Right now I always have to drive with the windows open to keep the inside of the Jeep from feeling like a furnace.
Thanks

same here. my wife's zj does this also. which ever setting you had it on last is where the heat/cool comes from. mine (96) has done this since i owned her. couldnt tell ya what causes it tho. my heat and cool work just fine tho.
