Default Cant remove NP231???

I am trying to remove my TC and cannot get the very top bolt out. It has a nut on the back side. I removed that but the bolt did not come out. I think it is threaded into the t-case. There is no head on the bolt to unscrew. I am splitting the t-case. Should i just remove the WHOLE t-case??

if you are pulling it a part to reseal or whatever it should definately come out. easy to remove, and work on the bench. and the two halves are stuck together pretty well. requires some carefull prying, and hitting with a mallet helps also. do not want to bend or pry the soft metal so much that it just smushes instead of coming apart.

So I assume the rear tail shaft with the splines has to be removed. I saw a couple of snap rings. Do I just remove them and pull it out? There is still one bolt in the top that had a nut on it.? It has no head that a wrench can be used to turn it.
