Im trying to replace my transmission filter, i got all the bolts off of the pan and now the gasket has fried the pan to the transmission. Any tricks to get the damn thing off?

Is it the pan gasket or the dipstick tube o-ring that's keeping it from dropping? Pan gasket was a non-issue on our '98 but the dipstick tube.......here's what we ended up doing......small tubing cutter and piece of 1/2" rubber fuel hose. It will be a non-issue from this point on. Maybe a putty knife on the pan gasket? Careful - don't bend the gasket surface on the pan or scratch it on the tranny case.

If its just the gasket hanging it up try smacking the side of the pan with a dead blow hammer or a rubber mallet. Unless someones glued it on with something super sticky that should free it up.
