use the search option in the upper right hand corner, this will open your world up to amazing things.

I would tune up the 90 and keep it stock and running well. The renix motors seem to get better fuel economy than the later models. I get 20mpg with mine.

You can replace spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, air filter. That's a good start. Also, you can upgrade your fuel injectors. (There are a TON of threads on the injector upgrade) When searching, use three terms to search with. You can also regear, as bigger tires on stock gearing will get you horrible gas mileage.

Then what are you asking? What else, besides the common tune up, can you do to try to increase power and efficiency? You can try a performance distributor, performance spark plugs, wires, or a performance ignition module, but you're looking at a lot of money for little or no gain. More times than not, if you increase power, you lose efficiency, and vice versa. The biggest upgrades for your situation will be the re-gear and upgrading fuel injectors. However, with the injector upgrade, there probably will not be a huge gain in efficiency or power, but it will be noticeable. Hope this helps.

what i was looking for it what years can i inter change parts its it 85-90 or 90-95, i know it well make lil deff end the end, but i would rather have my jeep burn more of the fuel that gets dumped in then, then what its doing now. there are things that need to be changed, on it and i know once i do that it well help. but im trying to use more up to date parts if you get what im talking about. i know you cant use a fuel system form say a 2001 on a 1990. but im shear in stock form the 2001 gets better mpg then the 90 model does.

see where im going with this not. im trying to updata with out doing a full motor and harness swap
