I started hearing this about a week before I changed out my head gasket and I cannot figure out what it could be. can anyone lead me in the right direction? BTW sorry about the bad quality of the video but if you listen at about :23 sec you can hear a knocking sort of sound. its coming from the back of the engine bay. lol I hope its an easy fix

the oil level is fine. and I dont think that adding anything to the oil will help that noise. lifters are new so im pretty sure its not that. someone told me it might be an exhaust leak but I dont know where the "leak" would be coming from. what it sounds like to me sounds similar to "piston slap" but its not a consistant noise and it get louder and quieter every so often.

ok I know its been a couple days but I finally think I figured it out. it may be loose flex plate bolts. but the only problem is I dont know how to get to them. can anyone tell me or show me how to get to them? and if you were wondering i figured this out by the help of youtube.

Between the back of the engine and the tranny is the bell housing. There's an inspection plate there. IIrc it's 2 large and 2 small bolts. Open the cover and you should see the flex plate. There's 4 bolts on the outer edge and 6 bolts in the center. You can only work on the 4 outer bolts without pulling the tranny. Use a big screwdriver or bar to turn the plate and tighten the 4 bolts.

No problem

I just checked mine not too long ago. Unfortunately the bolts were tight. So I think that takes the little thunk I'm hearing either to the center of the flex plate or a rod (or so I've read). Right now it's just a little and comes and goes, so I'm just keeping an ear on it.
