If you don't wheel a lot, I cant see spending that much money on the 6 inch lift.
I am in a similar boat and I have a 3" kit on my xj right now.
I am piecing together an additional 2" to get me to 5.5 - 6"

I bought a 3.5RE kit off a TJ for $100. That gets me the front springs, lower arms, brake lines, shocks and discos.
I already have a 2"BB for a Tj and that gets me the 2 additional inches for the front.
Found a used pair of adjustable uppers and still looking for a pair of rear springs.
I can get to 6" for way less then the $900 that they want for that kit.

With 6.5" I would definitely say go long arm. Short arm will ride like crap. Why do you want such a high lift?

Not really much to explain. With a lift that high and short arms you will feel every little bump in the road. Your suspension articulation will also suffer. Do a little research on short arm vs long arm and I guarantee you you will go with the long arm. Its better all around.

There is a lot of talk on the forum that people who have or are using RC lifts just don't like them. Now, I don't know from experience, but from what all I have poked through on here, they tend to fall apart fairly quickly. If/when you choose to get the long arm over the short, Iron Rock Offroad sells a long arm 6.5" kit that has great reviews on here.

I'm in the same stage of searching for a larger lift as well and the more and more I read, the more and more I am leaning toward IRO lifts.

Edit* The IRO kit is the same price as the RC lift.
