canister purge solenoind

i have a 99 jeep cherokee 4.0 i was under my hood today heard a ticking noise and its coming from the soleniond should it be i never heard it before and what does it do thanks

Were you idling for an extended period of time? I know that it isnt anything to worry about but in the past I ran into the same red flag in the past and after some research found out it was nothing to worry about and just happend as I was idling to test other things and such.

Sorry not a lot of technical garbage but just my previous experience.
