Default Can you reprogram 2000 XJ??

I was wondering if its possible to reprogram a control module. ECM, PCM, etc. which ever one controls the electric cooling fan. Im wanting to know if you can reprogram the degree for when the electric fan comes on. Ive read it comes on at 217F. I think it would be nicer if it came on at 210 or 211F. Mine ususally stays right below 210F.

Im sure ill get a few "why would you want to do that?!" well, why not?

Some folks have post that the dealership can re-program '00-'01 XJs so that the efan will engage when the compressor engages, like it does on '99 down. Haven't read anything about changing/re-programing the "on temp". There are aftermarket adjustable fan controllers out there.

I remember reading that about '99 down. I wonder why '00-'01 didn't keep that feature?

Can you help find the post about programming fan while compressor is engaged? Thanks

I just wired in an electric fan override with a switch so I can turn the fan on whenever I want.

Or here is a writeup on how to do what you asked about and change the temp that the fan turns on:

Take relay out of the equation, so when key is on, fan is on.
