hey guys on my 92 cherokee i need to know if the blue and red wire comming out of the brake light switch has power when the brake is pressed or if it cuts power?? i think i got a bad switch from autozone .

that same wire connects to the pos on the bulb but when i do a continuity test on it it shows that its connected to a ground?? short in the wires maybe?

im lost please help

wiring diag show pink and light blue and black wires at the switch just jump the plug with a small pc of wire to make sure light work

 

has to make a power connection when pressed

 

Ok I loose power when pressed and also that blue and red wire are getting continuity to the frame ( ground)

 

different years could be different colors do you have cruise also affect it

 

Yes I do have cruise

 

that could be the wire that cuts the cruise off do you have a manual with wiring diags

 

Yeah I have a haynes but the diagrams seem really off....also like 3 of the wires have continuity with a ground...
