Thumbs down Can someone help me identify this wire?

The location is above the pedals. I'm wondering if it was just an extra feature that my model does not have or if it might be what is causing certain electrical problems. 1999 xj 4.0 6cyl 2wd
It's the green wire and as far as I know the jeep is all stock.

That is an added wire with a pinch clip that somebody has added. Maybe at one time there was an alarm system and that wire is going to the brake pedal sensor. I would remove it before shorts out on something and you end up with no brake lights.

I figured it had to be something extra since there was no place for it to go. Thank you for the reply.
