Default Can someone explain difference please?

I've read a bunch of threads about the drag link and track bar and how they wear out. I'm sure mine are (99xj/160K). But I'm not clear on what each does. Can someone give me a brief description of what each does? I just replaced my sway bar bushings and sway bar ends and was thinking of replacing one of them or both (really just for preventive maintenance). Suggestions? Thanks.

Track bar locates the axle and keeps it centered under the body, drag link connects the steering box pitman arm to the passensgers side knuckle.

You might consider replacing all the tie-rods while you are down there as they aren't too expensive. If you go with autozone, there is a 20% off coupon code and free shipping... Lifetime warranty too...

Thank you all, Crazy8s, GreenXJ98, mentalbreakdown00!! Now, am I correct in thinking that if I do replace these I need to get an alignment?

Yeah, it's best to get a professional alignment after replacing steering components. You can adjust the toe in in your garage or driveway with a tape measure, but it's always best to get a real alignment after that.

I would not buy store brand ball joints of any ball joints or tie rods, they have a lifetime warranty and you will need it every year in my experience. If you order on advanced use TRT30 for 30% off and anything over $150 break into seperate orders to save $50 on each order. Now, I have aligned a whole lot of jeeps in my driveway with no ill affects what so ever. Make sure axle is centered, set toe, and set wheel straight and done as long as you would not have affected caster, by using adjustable upper arms etc...
