Default Can I tap a new thread for a sway bar bushing bolt?

Cross threaded a bolt today installing new sway bar bushings, anything keeping me from doing a tap and installing a new bolt on my '00 XJ?

Thanks

You could just run the tap through to clean the threads up a bit. What part of the swaybar is it on?

It's the bolt the goes through the bracket that surrounds the bushing, then into the frame.

To clarify a little more, I am referencing the front sway bar and the brackets near the middle, not at the links.

I don't think those have too much stress on them.

As long as the new bolt is the same pitch and you just ran a tap to clean the treads up, it should be fine.

Old Thread Recovery :
I know this is over three years old but does anybody out there know the actual size and thread count for these " front stabilizer clamp-to- frame bolts" that hold the brackets for the swaybar bushings to the frame ? I want to run a new one thru where there are a few near cross threads on one of mine in the unit body but don't know what size bolt to order or look for . Thank you if you can verify .

thanks, @freegdr . I also dug deep enough from the diagram at Morris 4x4 or QTec for that bolt via the service manual diagram or FSM. It showed that Mopar diagram with the number 4 part being "BOLT. (25mm), 25mm, 25mm long, Rt.." which is discontinued but go to Fastenal or McMaster Carr and hit flanged metric Grade8 shouldered bolts and that is where the "BOLT(25mm) 25mm,25mm,25mm long, Rt. ( right thread turning) "becomes somewhat useless. I guess it is closest to an M10 25 thread and 1.5 but it is not obvious on this page which it is from that google search result.

which one? I may do like one of the OPs and tap it out to 7/16" SAE and go buy some same sized bolts. Just wanted to know which of these that "Bolt 25mm" actually would be
