Default Can I mate any np231 to my ax-15 ?

Is it possible to mate any np231 to my ax-15 or must I have one off of an ax-15 and does the year matter? Also are there different spline counts on the out put? Any help is appreciated greatly!!!! Thanks geargrabbinxj (Shane)

Thanks very interesting, but I'm pretty stupid at times, is it saying as long as it comes off a similar jeep I can use it but I might have to swap in my current output shaft into the new case ?
