Default can i get this and NOT destroy my flairs?

ok, my plans are to get a 2" spacer and shackle lift, and i know that 31s will fit with stock wheels, but what i want to know is if they will still fit with offset wheels. I have Mickey Thompson Classic II's signature satin black with an offset and like 4 1/2 backspacing. Heres a quick drawing i made on paint of how far my wheels and tires stick out, this is pretty close to how it really is

will the 2" lift be enough to keep the tires from ripping off my flairs? sorry for the crumby work on the picture, not too good with paint. Also, if the tires will rub, could i use bumpstops or something of that sort to keep them from rubbing?

With 2" lift 31's should fit alright and if you don't plan on wheeling it you shouldn't have a problem

either bumpstop or trim or stick to the roads ---you might can get away with it offroad by leaving the sway bars on...

ok thanks guys, the only reason i was worried was because with my wheels the tires cant tuck at all. Glad i got some answers, cause i need tires BAD and dont want to buy 235s just to replace a month or two later with 31s. If i get some M/T's will they still fit? cause my jeeps 2wd but i need to use it like a 4wd from time to time, so i need a real aggressive tire(that and they just look so badass lol)

Your current tires have a radius approximately 14.5 inches. If you lift your jeep 2 inches and you add tires that are only a 1 inch larger in radius, then you should have 1 inch more clearance between the tire and the fender flare.

Is that correct reasoning everybody?

Better said---If you lift your jeep 2 inches and if you add tires that only have a radius 1 inch larger than you current tires, then you should increase the clearance between the tire and the fender flare by 1 inch over what you have now.

The lugs on light truck tires do square the edges as opposed to the rounded outer edge of the tread area on passenger car tires. You'll also have a possibility of hitting the lower control arm with the back inner edge of the tire when turning...except your offset wheels may eliminate that. If you do, you just need to adjust the steering stops. I understand that Jeep welded some, but not all, of the locknuts to the bolts. Mine were. I installed new hardened stop bolts and lock nuts and adjusted the stops accordingly.

One other thing. I don't want to be a bubble burster, but I was surprised in the difference I felt between my P235/75R15 Dunlop Radial Rover AT tires and my new LT 31x10.50 15-inch Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO tires as far as power goes. And I have a 4.0. I don't know your axle gearing, but big, aggressive tires can change a lot over the stock P215/75 tires. Have you thought about LT 30x9.50 size tires?

Having said that, you will increase ground clearance by about 2 inches over stock with your new 31" tires.

sorry if someone already said this, but what you can do is take a tape messure and messure from the center of the hub to the wheel well, so if you want 31's then make sure you have enough room to clear it that way. right now i have 33's with a 61/2 inch lift and at time i rub bad. with jeeps you just gotta cut or jack em way high

Where do you rub? I'm at 6.5" with 34s and I dont rub. Ran my buddies 36" Iroks for a week and only had minor rubbing issues with my BW flares.

I did a 3in lift and 2in spacers and still had to cut the fenders cause of rubbimg with 31x10.50s. Heres some pics. These are all I have ,I need to get new pics. It will give you an idea. Before the spacers and cuttingI could only turn my wheels maybe 1/4 turn.Depends on the tires too. 31s are all different sizes. This is with the fenders cut about 2in. and flares remounted.

Troy, what did you use to make that angled cut on the front of your flare where it meets the bumper? Good job.
