If anyone can tell me for sure then I'd appreciate it. I don't do much off-roading, and never anything extreme. I just don't want it rubbing tires at full lock.

Yes you can.

But with 31's you will either need wheels with less BS or to put a couple of washers in your steering box.

True he will need to trim but Im pretty sure he was referring to steering lock which he will rub at full lock on stock wheels.

Could I just run 30 9.50's then? I mean, I haven't bought the lift or the wheels/tires yet, I just think my XJ looks silly with factory suspension and tires. I'm considering this 2" Skyjacker lift w/o shocks. Got any opinions on that? I've searched, but not many reviews on it.

Also, with 2" of lift can I leave the factory shocks for awhile?

Yes you can run the stock shocks with a 2" lift, though if you want to wheel it I would get some longer shocks ASAP.

Thanks, I appreciate the responses so far man. Will that Superlift kit give me a full 2" in the front and rear? I would be a bit disappointed if I only ended up with 1.5" or something.

That kit.

Its just a Shackle/Spacer kit it will give you pretty close to advertised but after about 6 months your rear packs will start to flatten out.

You might also look into a rear AAL lift vs the shack;e lift. It will ultimately last a bit longer.

How about the Rusty's 2" AAL kit? $270 incl shocks. Sounds like a pretty good deal. What kind of performance and sag can I expect from an AAL setup? On my old K10 I just used shackles and blocks to jack the truck up like 6" for less than 100$ if I remember correctly. I wish it was that easy/cheap on this XJ, lol.

BTW, I try to search for all these questions, but I don't get many results.

EDIT

Wait, the 3" AAL kit is cheaper than the 2"... What gives. I mean, I'll go with the 3" instead, but I need some more input on the AAL stuff.

2.25" lift and 31" tires

It rubs on the bottom fender flares when turning and i cannot flex it...so...it won't work out too well

I now have 3" to run 31's.

Yes you can but they will bottom out. You can get something like Full Traction Bar Pin Eliminators and they will give you 1.5" more shock length. The BPE's cost $21 a pair and you would need two pairs.

This is what they look like and do:

AAL get a bad Rap. Alot depends on the condition of your stock leaf packs. If the are already flat or frowning then the AAL will not last long before ot sags. If the packs are in good shape then the AAL is a way to go. Just make sure you lengthen your bumpstops so you don't over flex your springs which , no matter what springs your running kills them.
