Instead of posting another thread searching would have found you the answer, but yes you can do it I've done two xjs with 6.5" lift and 1.5" transfer case drop. It's not the right way but it will get you by

You can also buy an extended yoke the one that splines into the transfercase for about $60.

You should join up on Pirate 4x4 and ask those guys the same questions. Those guys are really nice over there.
