Can this be fixed Major rust, PIC attached
Yes they don't have anything for the XJ's but on speaking to them over the phone they said given their experience fabbing rails for YJ and TJ's they should be able to do it on a cherokee too. I have sent them some pics to them via email and anxiously waiting for their reply.

I rarely see about repairing unibody rail rust, most people part out XJ's when that happens, but it definitely seems like it would easily be fixable. Well, maybe not easily or cheaply, but certainly there are worse things. Good luck!! I hate rust more than anything.
That fresh undercoating is a dead give away, would this happen to be an E-bay gem? As you have probably already heard not a good idea to purchase a vehicle sight unseen.
I found this one on Auto trader and the dealer sent me all the pics i asked and they were fine. Actually except this the whole under carriage and floor pans look great.
I have never been a fan of buying anything sight unseen but almost all XJ's i saw in this rust belt were rotted out. So far the dealership guy seem to acknowledge that they did not see this at all but I have yet to hear as to what they want to do with it. If they can compensate me for the repair and if it can be repaired I will be happy. I am keeping my fingers crossed though.

Roofing tar will be your best friend if you want it to stay that clean. My dad's 50 year old cousin has a 64 Impala that got new floors probably 20-30 years ago. He covered the bottom in tar and it's still perfect today. He actually just swapped a 383 in and put the 283 in an 85 S10 pick up. It's such a beautiful car.... Anyways, at least tar the seams. I need to get to it. Though maybe you're not in the rust belt?
