i finally got around to checking this out. I put the rear on jack stands and put it in Drive. I could see a noticable wobble on the passenger side. So i took off the tires and spun it with just the drums and the wobble was still on there. I swapped drums and the wobble was on the drivers side then. I inspected the drums and whatdoyaknow, made in china.

I did it once more with just the axle shafts and they are not bent.

Dealer told me he put on new brakes, which he did, but CHEAPLY. I don't know how the out of round drum would cause a up and down movement at 5 mph though but i know it's probably the source of my shakes.

Iassume you are gonna put new USA made drum on it. Let us know if that is the cure. Or you could convert it to rear rotors and calipers and do away with the drums entirely.

Well not china ones again, that's for sure. Whatever NAPA carries probably. I don't have much issues with drums and they seem to stop the jeep well enough so i don't think it's worth the upgrade...yet. Maybe down the road if i go 35's or so, i'll upgrade.

I only have 31s and would convert mine if the parts were sitting in my shop. It is just the aquiring of the parts that are my stumbling block.
Just put the dual diaphram booster and master on my heep a couple of weeks ago and it stops alot better and I was hanging onto those parts for about 6 months when I finally aquired everything I needed to do it.

You should try powerstop drilled or slotted rotors with hawk pads. When i upgraded to 33's on the tj, braking was poor. I found a kit of these pads and rotors for $100 on ebay (got very lucky no one saw it) and stuck them on and did the break in procedure. what a difference they made. They gripped so well and stopped the jeep with little effort. I loved that setup.

They don't even list a price for the rotors just call for pricing.
Pads are a Summit Racing item.
Thanks mudd.
