This is pictures of a connection that is back behind the valve cover near the rear of the Coil Pack....

this set of pictures is a connection that is hanging out on the right side of the transmission.

Should they not be capped though??

If you had a transfer case it would plug into that. No worries mine was the same way before my 4wd conversion.

Hmm once I did the 4wd Conversion I plugged the lower one into the case, but now I just looked and have the same upper connection. Wonder where that plugs into.

Hmm that could be it. Since we don't have a CA jeep that has 4 sensors.

Most of us have those hanging lose under the hood unless you have the acessories such as the underhood light and such. The bigger one with only one contact in it looks and resembles like one that the A/C or Alternator is currently hooked to - dont confuse them. I have several unused connectors in that general area - leave em be.
