The cam sensor is under the distributor cap. Once you remove the cap and rotor the cam sensor just lifts out. It does fit snugly in the distributor body, but there are no screws holding it in.

From Joe Peters and well stated. Sounds harsh but just makes sense:
"Let’s play a game.
You pretend that you are the only one that knows what year/engine, etc that you are asking about.
We will all pretend you never asked a question until you provide at least the bare minimum of information about your vehicle".

I have a '93 GC Laredo with a 4.0L engine. No CEL codes, idles smooth as silk, no oil leaks, plenty of power, never overheats, no unusual noises other than the normal 'expected' rattles and squeeks a jeep with 160K+ miles might make. So, my question is.. What's wrong with this jeep??

And not taking the time to fill out their profile. I actually check that our when the info isn't in the post.......
And wouldn't the OP want to get the most accurate advice/response to their questions which can only be done with proper info?

Or saying they can't search because they're using an App on their smart phone.

To expand on this, an up to date profile is even more helpful. I will agree the CF search is lacking, but google works great. To the OP, the post about it being under the dizzy cap is correct. What is leading you to believe this is malfunctioning?

Uh, no. 84 and 85 were carbureted. 86 4 cylinder was throttle body fuel injected and had nothing in the distributor except a rotor. 86 V6 was HEI. 87 to 90 4.0 Renix had a sync generator in the dizzy for the injectors. 91 to ? had a dizzy with a CMP in it. When they went dizzy-less, the CMP was a deal mounted in place of the dizzy.
