1999 2WD 4LTR DD. She stalled yesterday, had to flat bed her home.She cranks but no fire. I got the scope out Crank Sensor shows 4 pulses a space and 4 pulses.
The Cam sensor goes to 5 volts and has no pulses. The installed unit is OEM, I also have another OEM and an aftermarket. All three Ohmmeter open. All three have the same symptoms crank, steady 5 volts but no pulses. Is there something in the distributor that could cause this, or do I have 3 dead CPS's?

Is the distributor shaft turning?

 

CPS? Or CAM sensor?
Both can give similar symptoms but which one are you referring to? Given the distributor I take it the CAM sensor?

 

Thank you both. Yes the distributor was/is spinning. Two things occurred. A) The plug to the coil was defective. B) The stumbling was caused by a fuel issue. The fuel pump relay socket was broken. The output pin and lost its tab and was pushed into the housing. I removed the relay, cut off the offending contact, extended the wire and soldered it to the output pin of the relay. I had a fuel pump that was not recommended. It had 150K on it, so that was replaced with a Precision pump. O''Reilly's is now located in P.R.!!!
