Default caliper threads stripped

pulled my brakes off so i could change the eaxle shaft joint, go to put one of the caliper bolts in and come to find out the threads on the knuckle are stripped. i can get the bolt to tighten a little but not much. i was thinking A. longer m8x1.25 bolt to catch fresh threads. B. try a 5/16th bolt since the threads are slightly larger. C. heli coil the hole. D. replace knuckle.how hard is it to drill and tap the knuckle for the heli coil?

Helicoil kit runs ~ 25 on Ama, a guy on another forum sells a thread sert kit for 35. Buy the helicoil kit & do all 4 holes. Once repaired go easy when reinstalling the calipers and torque to 11 ft. lbs.
