A/C on my Cherokee works until you cut it off and back on ! Not leaking freon ! Anyone know what the problem could be ??

 

the airgap on the compressors clutch may be too large so that when you shut it off it can no longer engage the clutch until it cools down (and the gap shortens.) search this site, there's a lot more info.

could be something else too, just giving you someplace to look.

 

So does electric fan work in conjunction with a/c compressor ? Some said after 2000 they changed it and electric fan had nothing to do with it ! Does have a switch behind compressor in the line is that for electric fan ? Fan does not come on with a/c !
